Jacob Dore Race Team Prepares For New Season With Fundraiser

Sanford, Maine’s Jacob Dore, fresh off a meet and greet appearance for the Valenti Modified Racing Series at last weekends Racin’ Preview in Portland, will host his second annual JRD Racing Fundraiser Dance to help raise money for the 2011 season.

The event will be held Saturday, March 12th, from 7 pm to 12 midnight, at Mousam Valley Place, (Formerly Knights of Columbus) 47 High Street, Sanford, ME. Featured will be music by the Dance Doctor DJ’s of Sanford, dancing, and great prizes, including Boston Celtics tickets, and a unique opportunity to sponsor the # 05 modified for the 2011 campaign.

Dore explained “We have two raffles for those people who want to support our team and are unable to attend. The first is a pair of tickets to the April 5th, Celtics versus Philadelphia 76ers game. The other raffle is a little interesting, A sponsorship on our car. It will be on the trunk area of the car. The winner can mention their business or anything they want, as long as it’s appropriate.”.

Ticket prices are for either raffle are $5 a piece or 3 for $10. Interested parties unable to attend can purchase tickets by sending their donation, entry for sponsorship, and contact information for both raffles to Jacob Dore, 19 Breton Ave. Sanford, ME. 04073.

Last years benefit was considered a big success prompting the JRD team to move to a bigger venue. “Fundraising is a crucial part of our budget for race season. Last year’s event had approximately 200 people in attendance and helped us raise approximately $2,000.00. It also brings some publicity to my race team and has resulted in at least one new sponsor.”

Dance tickets are $12 per person, $20 per couple. Tickets can be purchased in advance at Sanford Sign Graphix, or Jazz Tappin Dance Academy in Sanford. Tickets will also be available at the door. If attending, to help organizers better plan the evening, please e-mail jacobdore@yahoo.com
