Dore Opens for Modified Racing
Series at Augusta Show
Augusta, ME. (January 6, 2010) – Fresh off a
successful 2009 season that saw him win his first
Modified Racing Series event and Koszela Speed Rookie of
the Year honors, Jacob Dore, of Sanford, ME., will
continue his winter break from college with an
appearance at this weekends, 22nd annual Northeast
Motorsports Expo and Trade Show, at the Augusta Civic
Center, Augusta, ME. The show runs Friday January 8,
through Sunday, January 10.
Dore, who majors in mechanical engineering at the
University of New Hampshire, is no stranger to Maine
racing fans.
Dore is a former legends car racer winning championships
with NELCAR and the TNT series. Following a stint racing
his modified at the All-Star Speedway, Epping, New
Hampshire, Dore tackled the Modified Racing Series last
season and emerged as the top rookie competitor.
At Beech Ridge Speedway, in Scarboro, ME, Dore impressed
the locals with a strong run mixing it up with veteran
racers David Pinkham, Buxton, ME; Les Hinckley, Windsor
Locks, CT; Dwight Jarvis, Ascutney, VT; and Chris
Pasteryak, Lisbon, CT.
He later shined at Twin State Speedway, Claremont, NH,
with a strong run, good enough for his first career win.
Dore, who will debut a new paint scheme on his familiar
#05, will be available for autographs through the
weekend.
Following the Augusta appearance, the focus will shift
to Frank Maratta’s 51st annual Auto and Cycle Show,
Friday, Feb 5, through Sunday February 7, at the
Connecticut Expo Center, Hartford, CT.
The all new “Motorsports Expo” will debut that weekend
and will include appearances by Waterford Speedbowl
standout Jeff Pearl, veteran modified driver Eddy Spiers,
and Kenny Barry, winner of his first MRS race last
October at Lee, NH. All three drivers will display their
2010 racers and will be available for autographs and
pictures.
On February 19th and 20th, the 15th annual Racin Preview
will take place at the Portland Expo, Portland, ME.
Jacob Dore will again display his #05 modified and be
available to answer questions. Any driver or race team
that would like to be a part of the special two day
event is asked to contact the series office at
1-800-924-2594.
Series representatives will be available at all shows to
answer questions about the upcoming 19 race schedule
that opens March 27, 28 at Waterford, CT. As of January
5, 41 race teams have registered for competition in
2010.
